As 2015 draws to a close, and as I prepare to turn the reigns over to our new President, Brent Andersen, I’d like to leave you with some final thoughts.
It has been an honor serving as the President of this chapter. During my two terms, I’ve worked to remain true to the ideals of the SAR and to continue building on the success of my predecessors. With the hard work and support of our Officers, we’ve made that happen. I’m very thankful to them and for the cooperation of all the Compatriots of our chapter who’ve pitched in to make it work.
Our future relies on planning for the continued success of our organization. To do that, we need the commitment of all of our members to participate and work together to achieve our goals of fostering an appreciation for patriotism, a respect for our national symbols & institutions, and the value of American citizenship.
It’s vital that the history of the founding of our Republic be preserved for future generations. And it will be if each of us carries on the work our patriot ancestors began. In the words of the SAR Pledge, I ask each of you to reaffirm your faith in the principles of Liberty and our Constitutional Republic, and solemnly pledge yourselves to defend them against every foe.
I want to thank you for the opportunity and privilege to serve. God bless you, the Sons of the American Revolution, and may He continue to bless the United States of America.
